Find Out About FOIA in Virginia

What information do you need about Virginia's Freedom of Information Act? Would you like to learn how it compares to federal law? Are you interested in finding out about how to overcome recalcitrant Commonwealth bureaucrats? Want to know how the pandemic is affecting records requests? Join the Virginia and Washington, D.C. Pro chapters for a virtual FOIA program. Paul Fletcher, publisher & editor-in-chief of Virginia Lawyers Weekly and former SPJ Freedom of Information Committee chair, heads up the panel. Panelists also include Megan Rhyne, executive director of the Virginia Coalition for Open Government, freelance investigative reporter Jim McElhatton, and investigative reporter Evan Watson of 13News Now (WVEC). The discussion will be moderated by Denise Dunbar, publisher and executive editor of the Alexandria Times and a member of the SPJ Washington Pro Chapter board.
